Phrase Generator

The Phrase Generator module takes words and combines them in phrases, respecting a logical order. It is very useful to help creativity, to fill pages with content that looks human-made, and to produce lots of keyword phrases for AdWords campaigns. Our GGG software uses these phrase lists to generate thousands of pages that rank well in search engines and lead all to the same promoted site.

Phrase Generator takes words or short word sequences, one per column, and combines them in phrases. In each phrase, only one element from each column is selected. The order is always the same, from left to right.

A little math shows that the total number of potential phrases is: c₁ times c₂ times c₃... times c₁₀. Being c_n the number of elements in a given column. In the example above, 8 columns with 3 elements each, can produce 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 phrases, equal to 6561.  

A small message will appear in the top of your screen to predict the number of generated phrases. More than 100,000 phrases can take a rather long time, depending on your PC speed and memory. The example above took 2 minutes in an old 500 Mz PC.

You can also insert a "Blank" word, using a space. For instance:

This is used mostly for optional adjectives and adverbs.

The first 2 standard symbols in the top mean: open file, save file. This applications uses a specific format that separates elements in the columns with commas. It is a plain text file that can be opened with Notepad in case of need. We call it "phrase seed file", and has the .pgf ("phrase generator file") extension.

The third button calls the Paragraph Generator.

The fourth button clears the screen.

The fifth button starts the Phrase Generation process.

The sixth button extracts synonyms from the dictionary for each unit inside a column, be it word or short phrase.

Second Step - Selecting few but varied phrases

We recommend to generate 10 or 20 times more phrases than needed. In the second screen you will be able to select a representative Subset (using button on the image below, to the right).

The buttons Add, Modify, Delete, on the right, are not functional at this point. Same for the one in the bottom, "Save on GGG Database". 

The empty box on the right represents the "Number of phrases in the subset". The Phrase Generator is so powerful that usually produces many more phrases than needed. The select a representative subset of the whole phrase set, the system lets you pick one every several phrases, and save the subset in a file, or present it on screen. 

When you select for instance 100 in the box, the 6561 phrases will be reduced to a sampling of 65 or so.  These will not be consecutive phrases, because such subset would not be representative of the phrases in the top, medium and bottom ranges.

The larger the number you enter in the white box ("INTERVAL") the smaller the number of phrases in the subset.

The only precaution is not to use as interval a multiple of the number of elements in the last column. This eliminates variation due to the elements in that last column. 

The Subset button lets you proceed to the Subset selection step. The results can be either shown on screen or saved (see buttons in the right).

We recommend to generate 10 or 20 times more phrases than needed. Then, select a representative Subset (using button on the right).

The next step would be to paste 3 or 4 files together and mix the phrases, in order to achieve a more semantic word distribution (using the Generate Content Boxes feature in Synonymizer).
